A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The downside of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of spam email messages, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also important to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting

If you’ve got a shared web hosting with us and you would like to activate the catch-all functionality for a given e-mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it’ll take literally just one click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can pick one email address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all emails sent to miswritten email addresses will be received there. Clicking the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning message and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house created Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will allow you to set up a catch-all mailbox without difficulty even in case you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All you need to do to achieve that is click the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each email address that you have set up using your domains in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. Since you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will warn you if you have already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. If you decide that you do not need this feature anymore, you can disable it by clicking once again on the very same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
